Where is our Pearl Powder sourced from?

Our freshwater pearls are sourced from Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province, which is recognized as Asia’s leading region for pearl cultivation. We work closely with a factory who are committed to ecological farming practices, and the entire breeding and sourcing process is fully traceable, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly.

There’s so much work that goes on in the cultivation and harvesting of these noble substances and it has to be done not only correctly but in our point of view, according to tradition. More detailed information can be found under our Pearl Powder listing.

Does your monk fruit have erythritol in it?

Our monk fruit is a 100% pure concentrate with no erythritol or fillers. In fact, it’s concentrated in a way that encourages the more medicinal properties that monk fruit has to offer as well as it’s natural sweet & smokey taste profile

Are you using fruiting bodies for your mushrooms?

Some argue that using the mycelia is stronger than the fruiting bodies and although this may be true for certain myo-chemicals that mushrooms possess, our goal is not to concentrate those specific compounds. We use full spectrum fruiting body concentrates for our Tremella and Reishi mushrooms.

Are your ingredients lab tested?

Every batch is lab tested and screened for any impurities or environmental contaminants. In today’s world, there’s been so much contamination and chemical blow-over or spray-drift which crosses over from province, to country, to continent that it’s hard to source in the way that nature intended it to be. Unfortunately, many corporations can now simply pay for certifications and labels such as organic, non-GMO, ethically sourced, fair-trade and so on. Every batch of our ingredients are rigorously screened and goes through a strict quality system that tests for heavy metal contaminants, pesticides, aflatoxins, sulfur dioxide, etc

Can I drink this at night?

Due to Matcha being one of the ingredients it does contain caffeine and it is to be consume with that in mind. We recommend it as a morning drink. With added L-Theanine it helps to smooth the stimulating effects of caffeine. L-theanine has been shown to increase calming alpha brain waves within 40 minutes.

Ingredients:

(and why we chose them)

Freshwater Pearl Powder

Is one of the most revered ingredients in traditional beauty history. The use of pearl powder in traditional medicine spans over 1,600 years, with documented applications dating back to 320 A.D. In traditional Chinese medicine, it has been valued for supporting skin health, bone strength, and the nervous system. We use it because it works from the inside out. Pearl powder contains essential amino acids, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, and other trace minerals that support everything from skin radiance to immune health. It supports the body's natural collagen production, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and improve skin elasticity. Pearl powder is also said to boost two of the body's most abundant antioxidants — superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione — which help fight against cellular damage and support overall vitality.

Ceremonial-Grade Matcha

Not all matcha is created equal. Ceremonial grade matcha is considered the highest quality matcha green tea, so highly regarded that Zen Buddhists used it in their rituals since the 16th century. Ceremonial matcha is sourced from the first leaves of the harvest, concentrating the maximum level of nutrients and antioxidants. Its intense jade green colour is a testament to its freshness and quality. For your skin and wellbeing, it is nutrient-dense — rich in antioxidants, the amino acid L-theanine, and chlorophyll — and delivers a smooth lift in alertness while supporting calm focus. When you drink quality ceremonial-grade matcha, you receive at least three times the antioxidants of the highest quality regular green tea — meaning extra benefits in every cup. The EGCG found potently in matcha is a powerful free-radical scavenger that helps neutralize oxidative stress, which can accelerate cellular ageing.

Tremella Mushroom

Known as the "beauty mushroom," has been used for centuries for its beauty-enhancing benefits in ancient China — even by Chinese royalty. When asked about her glowing skin and youthful complexion, ancient Chinese imperial concubine Yang Guifei of the Tang Dynasty was reported to credit none other than tremella mushrooms. Tremella earns its reputation: it can hold up to 500 times its weight in water, making it an exceptional natural hydrator. It promotes collagen production, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by keeping the skin plump, and is rich in antioxidants that help fight free radicals responsible for premature ageing. Scientific evidence from clinical studies indicates that tremella extract has hydrating properties that are 15% more effective than hyaluronic acid, with one clinical study showing skin treated with snow mushroom extract increased hydration levels by 2.6 times — largely because tremella particles are significantly smaller than hyaluronic acid molecules, allowing deeper penetration.

L-Theanine

Is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves that has been shown to improve sleep, reduce anxiety and stress, and boost mental clarity and alertness. In the context of beauty and skin health, this matters deeply — because stress is one of the most significant drivers of skin ageing. Science supports beauty sleep: just one night of poor sleep can visibly show up on the skin as decreased hydration, impaired barrier function, accelerated skin ageing, and dark circles. L-theanine stimulates alpha wave activity in the brain, which mimics what happens when you enter a deep meditative state, helping you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Beyond its calming benefits, L-theanine's antioxidant properties help protect skin cells from oxidative stress, and its support of the skin's barrier function helps retain moisture for a plumper, smoother complexion.

Astragalus

Astragalus Root (Astragalus membranaceus) has been used for centuries in Eastern herbal practices and is often described as supporting the body's "Qi," or vital energy. Today, it is recognized around the world as a leading adaptogenic herb, traditionally associated with resilience, balance, and well-being. Rich in naturally occurring polysaccharides, flavonoids, and saponins, Astragalus is often studied for its antioxidant properties, which may help the body combat everyday oxidative stress.

Reishi Mushroom

Often called the “Mushroom of Immortality,” is one of the most renowned functional mushrooms, traditionally valued for its association with balance, vitality, and emotional well-being. Used in Eastern herbal practices for centuries, Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is regarded as an adaptogen that supports calm, resilience, and overall wellness.

Reishi has been appreciated throughout history for its naturally occurring compounds, such as triterpenoids and beta-glucans. These are often studied for their potential to support balance in the body, and Reishi continues to be included in modern wellness routines as a symbol of steadiness and harmony.

Coconut Milk Powder

Is derived from the flesh of mature coconuts and has been a cornerstone of traditional beauty rituals across tropical cultures for generations. It contains vitamins C, E, and B vitamins, as well as minerals including magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus, all of which nourish the skin and help maintain its health and vitality. Packed with medium-chain triglycerides like lauric acid, caprylic acid, and capric acid, it acts as a natural emollient — penetrating deep into the skin's layers, sealing in moisture, and preventing water loss. It also has soothing and calming properties that can reduce redness and irritation, making it an ideal choice for people with sensitive or reactive skin. In our blend, it also adds a naturally rich, creamy texture that makes every cup feel like a true ritual.

Acerola Cherry Extract

Is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C in the world, and that vitamin C naturally occurs alongside important co-factor nutrients like bioflavonoids, carotenoids, and anthocyanins. This matters because vitamin C is essential for collagen production — the structural protein that keeps skin firm, hair strong, and nails healthy. As natural collagen production declines with age, ensuring adequate vitamin C intake becomes even more important. Full of antioxidants and vitamin C, acerola cherry extract eliminates free radicals, boosts collagen production for younger-looking skin, and helps hydrate, moisturise, and brighten skin by reducing hyperpigmentation for a more even tone. We choose acerola cherry extract specifically because vitamin C from acerola is absorbed more efficiently by the body and is excreted more slowly than synthetically manufactured ascorbic acid — meaning you get more from every serve.

Natural Vanilla Bean

Vanilla beans are naturally rich in antioxidants, which protect the skin from environmental damage caused by free radicals. This slows down the ageing process, including visible signs like fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of suppleness. Vanilla's natural compounds, such as vanillin, also possess anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe irritated skin, making it an excellent remedy for redness, dryness, and minor inflammations. Beyond its skin-supportive role, vanilla has long been valued for its calming aromatherapeutic qualities — its warm, familiar scent is associated with reduced stress and a sense of comfort. We use natural vanilla bean (not artificial flavouring) to honour the integrity of the whole ingredient and the richness it brings to your daily ritual.

Monk Fruit

Also called Luo Han Guo, is a small green gourd native to southern China and northern Thailand. For centuries it has been used in traditional Chinese medicine as a natural sweetener with purported health benefits. We chose it deliberately — because in a beauty-from-within product, the sweetener matters just as much as every other ingredient. Regular sugar promotes a process called glycation, where sugar molecules attach to collagen and elastin fibres in the skin, degrading them over time and accelerating visible ageing. Products sweetened with monk fruit provide their benefits without glycation risk, meaning your beauty routine doesn't backfire.

Unlike regular sugar, monk fruit gets its intense sweetness from unique antioxidants called mogrosides — not from fructose or glucose — meaning it will not raise blood sugar levels. Monk fruit's mogrosides are rich in antioxidants that neutralise free radicals and reduce oxidative stress, helping protect against premature ageing, redness, and dullness. It also supports the gut-skin connection: a happy gut often equals happy, clear skin, and pure monk fruit is gut-friendly and clean, working harmoniously with the body to support clear, healthy skin.
